Brandy is a spirit produced from distilled wines and typically drunk neat, or on the rocks. Some may have been aged in wooden casks, which adds complexity to the spirit and gives a beautiful smoky taste. Varieties of wine brandy can be found across the winemaking world, but among the most renowned are Cognac and Armagnac from Southwestern France.
