Come rain or shine, there’s one thing we can all agree on – us Brits love a Bank Holiday!

Host with the Most… Delicious Blue Margarita

If you’re entertaining guests over the weekend, then what better cocktail to wow them with than a much-loved Margarita. But make it blue.

Margarita’s have consistently been voted the most popular cocktails in the world so if you’re having a barbecue with friends, gathering the squad for dinner or simply hosting your own soiree, this twist on an old classic is sure to have everybody talking.

Plus, it’s super easy to make meaning you’ve got more time with your guests and less prepping complicated cocktails.

In a cocktail shaker (or a Tupperware box if you haven’t got a cocktail shaker) add ice, then pour the tequila, blue curacao, lime juice and sugar syrup. Shake until the outside of the shaker feels cold.

Impressing the In-Laws? It’s got to be Rosé all day with this Rosé Sangria

A staple of summer, a good bottle of rosé screams summer sun so whether you’re going al-fresco with drinks and dining on the patio or simply cooking up a storm indoors, there’s no better way to impress the in-laws than with a simple twist on a Spanish favourite.

Sangrias are super simple to make and, other than the prep, the whole drink is ready in mere seconds.

A Beer’s Knees Barbecue with Mates

A take on the ‘Bee’s Knees’ cocktail thought to have emerged during Prohibition when it was thought that the honey and lemon juice could mask the poor quality of gin used.

The combination of lemon and honey suggests it could have been used as an ailment for flu or a cold – not in a hurry to try it for flu, but we’re all too willing to try it during a bank holiday.

Again, minimal preparation needed for this one but be sure to serve it chilled.

Ingredients

Instructions

Stir the gin, lemon juice and honey in a tall glass until the honey has completely dissolved. It’s important to dissolve the honey before adding ice as it may clump.

Add some ice to the glass, top with lager and then stir gently to combine.

For an extra kick, add a dash of Angostura Bitters and garnish with a slice of lemon.
